Las borrascas invernales americanas tendrán nombres no oficiales

La empresa privada The Weather Channel va a realizar una experiencia que no es novedosa: poner nombre a las borrascas invernales que vayan a producir o produzcan grandes nevadas en el invierno 2012-2013. Los objetivos son claros: llamar la atención social y recordar eventos nivosos a nivel sinóptico para que se recuerden en los próximos años que de otra forma caerían en el olvido.

Esta es la lista para 2012-2013, sin traducir:

• Athena -- The Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, inspirations, justice, mathematics and all things wonderful?
• Brutus -- Roman Senator and best known assassin of Julius -- Title used by Roman and Byzantine Emperors ?
• Draco -- The first legislator of Athens in Ancient Euclid -- A mathematician in Ancient Greece, the Father of Geometry
• Freyr -- A Norse god associated with fair weather, among other things?
• Gandolf -- A character in a 1896 fantasy novel in a pseudo-medieval countryside?

Como se puede ver se ha tratado de no poner nombres de los ciclones tropicales que aparecen en las listas del CNH. El nombre se pondrá no antes de tres días de que la borrasca afecte a una amplia zona.

A las listas oficiales de nombres para los ciclones tropicales, a los nombres de borrascas y anticiclones - que se pueden apadrinar previo pago - en latitudes europeas dadas por el Departamento de Meteorología de la Universidad de Berlín, se les une los nombres relativos a las tormentas invernales americanas.

¿Será positivo poner nombres a las DANAs y eventos extremos otoñales en España para llamar la atención de la gente ? ¿Quién lo hará o se adelantará para hacerlo? ¿Cómo se hará? ¿Se realizarán boletines específicos para ellas?
